Role Description

NX Engineering Srl is looking for an experienced Permitting Specialist to strengthen the team dedicated to permitting procedures for energy, infrastructure and plant engineering projects.

The selected candidate will join the Permitting division and report directly to the Permitting Manager, working closely with the design teams and project technical leads.

The role will focus on ensuring the effective and timely management of permitting processes, guaranteeing regulatory compliance and coordination with public authorities and stakeholders.

Key Responsibilities

• Manage and coordinate permitting processes for energy and infrastructure projects, including photovoltaic plants, wind farms, BESS, power lines, electrical substations and data centers.
• Prepare and review technical and administrative documentation for building and environmental procedures, including PAUR, EIA, SEA, AUA, PAS, Single Authorisations and SCIA.
• Work with the Permitting Manager and Project Managers to plan timelines, deliverables and priorities.
• Coordinate external consultants to ensure the completeness and compliance of the documentation.
• Interface with public authorities, including Municipalities, Regions, Superintendencies, ARPA and Fire Brigade departments, as well as external consultants.
• Analyse applicable national and regional regulations, ensuring continuous updates to internal processes.
• Attend Services Conferences and technical meetings with authorities and stakeholders.
• Support the definition of permitting strategies during project development and implementation phases.

Requirements

• At least 3 years of experience in similar roles, such as Permitting Specialist, Project Engineer or Environmental Consultant, within the energy or infrastructure sector.
• Degree in Engineering, Architecture or related disciplines.
• Excellent knowledge of building and environmental regulations.
• Ability to prepare clear and consistent technical reports and permitting documentation.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work in multidisciplinary teams.
• Good organisational skills and ability to manage deadlines independently.

Preferred Qualifications

• Direct experience on renewable energy, BESS and/or data center projects.
• Knowledge of digital platforms for filing permitting applications.
• Familiarity with GIS or CAD software, such as QGIS, ArcGIS and AutoCAD.
• Written and spoken technical English.

A valid Category B driving licence is required.
