Role Description

NX Engineering is looking for a Senior Electrical Engineer to join the Electrical Engineering team, supporting the Energy Systems and Power Systems & Grid divisions.

The selected candidate will play a key role in the design, technical coordination and supervision of complex electrical systems within the industrial and energy sectors, with a particular focus on renewable energy plants, BESS systems and grid infrastructure.

Key Responsibilities

• Electrical design of MV/LV and HV systems, including layouts, single-line diagrams, electrical calculations and technical specifications.
• Design and integration of renewable energy plants and BESS systems.
• Support the design of grid connections with Terna / DSO, including preliminary studies and coordination with authorities.
• Technical coordination of junior resources and review of design deliverables.
• Technical interface with clients, suppliers, EPC contractors and project stakeholders.
• Support permitting, tendering and construction phases.
• Ensure compliance with CEI, IEC, grid connection and safety regulations.

Requirements

• Master’s Degree in Electrical or Energy Engineering.
• At least 5–7 years of experience in the electrical design of energy or industrial systems.
• Strong knowledge of MV/LV systems and protection systems.
• Experience with HV systems.
• Experience in renewable energy and/or BESS projects is strongly preferred.
• Knowledge of the main technical standards and grid connection regulations.
• Ability to work independently and manage multiple projects simultaneously.
• Strong problem-solving and technical coordination skills.

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience with complex systems, Oil & Gas, nuclear or similar sectors.
• Written and spoken technical English.

A valid Category B driving licence is required.

Technical Skills

• Electrical calculation software such as DIgSILENT PowerFactory, ETAP, Cymcap or similar tools.
• Electrical design software, electrical CAD systems and AutoCAD.
• Good command of Excel for technical calculations and analysis.

Additional Plus

• Familiarity with BIM design software.
